This cruise takse you from Budapest – the “Queen of the Danube”, along the Rhine-Main-Danube canal (a masterpiece of engineering) to the Bavarian town of Nuremberg.
Pass through four of Europe’s most important countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia), three world-famous capital cities (Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava), and through diverse landscapes such as the “Schlögener Schlinge” below Passau, the picturesque, myth-enshrouded Wachau region, and the Danube-knee at Visegrad (the Hungarian Wachau), with imposing architectural buildings along the banks of the rivers, such as Melk Abbey and the Esztergom Basilica.
At the very start of your cruise, you will enjoy one of Europe's most attractive cities and tourist destinations.
Board the ship and get settled into your river-view cabin. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Cocktail, followed by a specially prepared Welcome Dinner. Your ship will remain in Budapest for the first night.
Spend the day exploring Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Join the morning city highlights tour to admire the neo-Gothic House of Parliament, Fisherman’s Bastion, Buda Castle and more.
Later in the day, roam further afield to one of the most important Hungarian palaces: the Royal Palace of Gödöllő in Pest county. Or opt for an alternate excursion “Vibrant Budapest” to view the market hall with its local delicacies, the famed thermal baths and the famous Gerbeaud Café, which looks back to more than 150 years of history. This evening, enjoy an authentic Hungarian folklore show and an evening cruise by the UNESCO-listed riverbanks. Sail under the illuminated Chain Bridge past sights like the Buda Castle district twinkling with lights.
After lunch, the vessel arrives in the Slovak capital. On your walking tour through the carefully restored old town, begin with the Michael’s Gate – medieval city entrance, admire the neoclassical Primatial Palace, St. Martin’s Cathedral – a former coronation church for Hungarian kings, and the building of the 15th century Universitas Istropolitana – the oldest university in the territory of modern Slovakia.
Bratislava's old city walls, the summer residence of the archbishop, and the residence of the Slovak president are also part of the charm of this city, along with the many human-sized sculptures scattered all over the Old Town. Back on board, enjoy a delicious dinner with your fellow travelers.
There is much to explore in Imperial Vienna. Enjoy the sights on the “Highlights of Vienna” morning tour, including the Ringstrasse, the Opera House, the Museum Quarter and more.

In the evening, opt to enjoy the “Sound of Vienna” concert at a local music salon. Before midnight, the vessel departs toward the romantic Wachau Valley.
Awaken in the village of Dürnstein, known as the “Pearl of the Wachau”. Take a guided morning tour in the romantic village with its iconic blue church and winding streets, and sample the local wines.
After lunch on board, dock in Emmersdorf in the heart of the UNESCO-protected landscape of the Wachau Valley. Spend the afternoon discovering this typical Lower Austrian town or travel across the river to nearby Melk and its magnificent Benedictine abbey, the largest in Austria.
